Briley's Trip to Nashville

After Thanksgiving Kris, Stacey, and Briley took a road trip to Nashville, TN. We had a lot of fun but then also relaxed too. It was a wonderful time spent with just the three of us.

Santa was so nice and even talked to Briley. Briley on the other hand stuck her tongue out at Santa, but she is still on Santa's nice list.

All three of us went to Ice which is How the Grinch Stole Christmas all carved in ice. It was amazing to see but Briley was so covered in blankets that she just fell asleep.

Briley's First Thanksgiving

Sorry it has taken so long to update our Blog. We just wanted to share some of our Thanksgiving pictures. Briley attended two dinners and had so much fun at both. Of course naps were needed because of all the excitement.

Monday Night Football/Mommy and Daddy's Birthday

Briley has been keeping us very busy. Here are a few picks from both Stacey and my birthday on Oct 27th. The Colts played on Monday night football, so we just decided to stay home with Briley, order a pizza, and watch our Colts. The Colts did not end up winning, but it was a great birthday with our little Briley!!

Trip to the Apple Orchard/Pumpkin Patch

Stacey has always wanted to go to the Apple Orchard and pick some apples for us. We decided this past weekend was a perfect time to go because we needed to get our pumpkins for Halloween. When we go there Stacey was very disappointed to find all the apples had been picked and bagged up. So even though we didn't get to pick the apples we were able to head out in the pumpkin patch and we had a great time!!

It was a cold windy day at the patch and Briley wasn't happy!!

Wow has it been 2 Weeks....

We are sorry we have not been on here in a while. We have been so busy with welcoming Briley to her new home and with family/friends visiting we have not had a few minutes to add any pictures.

It took little Briley a few days to get adjusted to her new surroundings, but she is getting more comfortable and more importantly learning to sleep most of the night. The first week home sleep was hit and miss but as time has gone on she is starting to sleep much more...making mommy and daddy very happy.

I could write a ton here but I know all you really want to do is see the pictures of the baby. I will just say that is was a long 30 hours of labor, but Mom and Baby are GREAT!! Oh yeah Dad didn't faint and yes he is wrapped around Baby Briley's little finger already!!

1 week to go

Ok at the last doctors appointment there was no change for Stacey we are still at 1 cm and only half way effaced. Stacey was very disappointed after her appointment. Doctor also decided that she would like to see us again next Tuesday. We were not going to see her again before the induction on the 8th unless we were having the baby, but with Stacey's body not progressing like she would like, she decided to see her on Tuesday the 7th. If Stacey isn't any closer to having it then she will be admitted to the hospital on Tuesday night to ensure her body is ready for the induction on Wednesday morning. No need to worry this is not a complication just the doctor wanting to make sure things go like Stacey and I have requested.

On a better note Stacey didn't sleep well last night...I know I know that sounds crazy that her not sleeping is a good thing but it is because her body was really changing over night and she had two contractions. These contractions were only Braxston Hicks contractions but it was a big start. She then had a BH contraction again this morning. The funny thing about the contractions was that she had no idea she was having them. She was standing next to me this morning getting ready and all of a sudden did a deep knee bend...I had to ask what the heck was she doing... I was told she had a cramp that was in her lower back and in her lower abdomen. I had to tell her it was a contraction and not a cramp. At first Stacey didn't believe she as having them but the more she thought about it the more excited she got. It was disappointing that we did not have one the rest of the day but we know it is a start and we know no matter what we are only 1 week away from being parents!!!!

Inside 2 Weeks

After yesterdays Doctors appointment there was no change. We are still at 1cm and 50% effaced which means Baby Layton is not ready to show us what it might be!! After the check by the Doctor everything is OK with Stacey and the baby. Our induction date is Oct 8th and we have to be at the Hospital at 630am. We are still hoping Stacey will have it before having to be induced, but if not then we will have a baby no later then Oct 9th. Wow we couldn't be more excited right now!!

Our next Doctors appointment is Sept 30th.

The time is near!!

Well we had our doctors appointment this past Tuesday and we were told that Stacey is 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced (the baby is half way into the canal). The Doctor also told us that she is so busy right now that she wanted to schedule our induction. If Stacey does not have the baby by October 6th(which is her due date) then they will induce Stacey on the 8th which means we could have the baby on the 8th or the 9th. The baby's heart has been in the 140s every time, but this last time it was in the low 120s.(still normal)

Our next Doctors appointment is Tuesday Sept 23rd.

As a side note we would like to thank everyone involved in planning the two baby showers and all that bought us gifts and gave us gift cards. Everything that has been done has been appreciated and will not be forgotten!! Thanks!!

Baby Layton Update

We had our Doctors appointment today and all is well. We are 36 weeks today and the baby has turned head down!! Today's appointment was much more eventful than the past few. When the Doctor checked the baby's position she thought it was head down, but wanted to do an ultra-sound just to be sure. When we got in the room for the ultra-sound the Tech decided to have a little fun and gave us some 3D pics of our new baby!! (Only FACE....of course!!!) We thought you might like to see some of the photos.

Baby Class and Doctor update

Wow the baby classes are over!! It has been a long 6 classes in 4 weeks. Although we have learned a great deal we are both happy the classes are over! Over the last 4 weeks we have had 4 expecting parents classes, a new born baby care class, and a breastfeeding class...we are experts now!! YEAH RIGHT!! Ha Ha


We also had two doctors appointments in August and they both lasted a total of 20 minutes. (added together!!) I know I know no news is good news but it is just hard going time and time again and we are there for 10 minutes and out the door. Sometimes it kinda makes you feel like you aren't asking the right questions or doing the right things, but everyone goes through the same things we are sure. Our next Doctors appointment is Monday Sept 8th and then after that we start going weekly.



Stacey just turned 34 weeks this past Monday, so we have taken some pictures to share with you.
